HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 8SFF Rack Server

The DL360 Gen10 is HPE’s previous-generation 1U rack server, still widely deployed and well supported, offering a lower-cost route into enterprise-grade HPE hardware for buyers who don’t need DDR5 or the newest iLO generation. Its 1U chassis and fixed 8-bay SFF storage make it well suited to workloads with predictable, modest storage needs — domain controllers, DNS/DHCP, monitoring servers, small database instances, or virtualization hosts running a defined set of VMs — where the priority is fitting more compute into less rack space rather than leaving room to grow.

Compared with the 2U DL380 Gen10 sharing the same CPU and memory configuration, the DL360 gives up PCIe slot count and drive-bay expansion in exchange for roughly half the rack footprint; it also relies on smaller, higher-speed fans that generally run louder and less efficiently than a 2U chassis under equivalent thermal load. It’s the better pick when floor space or rack unit cost is the binding constraint and storage requirements are known and fixed; if there’s a chance capacity will need to expand later, the DL380 leaves more room to do so without a hardware replacement.
