How Dedicated7 collects and uses personal data.

This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have over it. It covers visitors to the site, people who submit an enquiry, and customers who place an order.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

• Enquiry and valuation forms — your name, email address, telephone number, organisation name, the service you are interested in, the details of any equipment you describe, and anything else you choose to write in the message field. The asset disposal and Sell To Us forms also accept file uploads.
• Orders — your name, billing and delivery address, email address, telephone number, order contents and order history.
• Correspondence — the content of emails and calls with us.

Information collected automatically

• Technical and usage data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page and approximate location derived from IP address, collected through site analytics.
• Data collected by our payment provider during checkout for fraud prevention.

What we do not collect

We do not receive or store your full card number, expiry date or security code. Card details are entered directly into our payment provider’s hosted fields and are processed by them.

The site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data about them.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also email Operations@dedicated7.io. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it, and does not stop us sending transactional messages such as order confirmations.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it with the service providers we need in order to run the business, each of which processes it on our instructions:

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. This site uses:

• Strictly necessary cookies — to remember the contents of your basket, your chosen display currency, and your login session if you have one. The site cannot function without these.
• Analytics cookies and identifiers — set by Jetpack Stats to count visits and understand which pages are used.
• Payment and fraud-prevention cookies — set by Stripe on the checkout page.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout working.

6. International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place — such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

7. How long we keep it

• Order and transaction records — at least six years after the end of the accounting period they relate to, to meet HMRC requirements.
• Warranty records — for the length of the warranty period plus a reasonable margin for claims.
• Enquiries that do not lead to an order — no longer than we need them for the enquiry and any reasonable follow-up.
• Marketing subscriptions — until you unsubscribe.
• Analytics data — for the retention period operated by the analytics provider.

8. How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it. Payment card data is handled by our payment provider and does not reach our systems. We keep our platform and its components up to date.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• ask us to delete data where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
• object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
• ask us to restrict processing while a dispute is resolved;
• receive data you gave us in a portable format, where processing is based on consent or contract; and
• withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.

To exercise any of these, email Operations@dedicated7.io. We will respond within one month. There is no charge in ordinary circumstances.

10. Data on equipment you send us

If you sell or send us equipment for disposal or recycling, it may still contain your data or that of third parties. Wherever possible, remove or destroy that data before the equipment leaves your control.

Where we carry out data erasure or destruction as part of a service, that work is covered by the terms of that engagement rather than by this policy.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is the version that applies.
